For weddings, conventions and reunions of all kinds, Chaffee County has venues to fit your need. Hotel meeting rooms and the personal atmosphere of bed and breakfasts of various styles are all available.
The Buena Vista Heritage Museum rents out its historic ballroom for events. Elsewhere in town, several parks are options for functions, including Columbine Park with a playground, McPhelmy Park by the lake, and The Beach at South Main alongside the Arkansas River.
In Salida, the SteamPlant Theater and Events Center, on the river in the downtown district not far from Riverside Park, has several flexible venues, including outdoor spaces, each suitable for different occasions. Riverside Park itself offers a large grassy space, lovely shade trees, a band shell, a playground, and, of course, the Arkansas River.
Poncha Springs at the junction of US 50 and US 285 is home to the Chaffee County Fairgrounds. With its 10,000-square-foot event center, 6,000-square-foot exhibit hall, meeting room and two outdoor arenas, the fairgrounds are available for use year-round.
The lovely Mt. Princeton Hot Springs, with Chalk Creek running through it and surrounded closely by 14ters, boasts many choices for hosting your event, both indoors and out, including a glass-enclosed pavilion.
