The Riverside Cemetery, also called the Mayol Cemetery, is situated about ten miles north of Buena Vista and east of Highway 24, along the Arkansas River. (Sec. 12, T13S, R79W, 6th P.M.)
There are six distinguishable graves within the wooden fence. Other possible graves are outside of the fenced area. The tombstone of Emily Mayol had been the only marker in this small cemetery until it was smashed to pieces by vandals. None of the graves have any kind of marker today. The cemetery has no records and has been abandoned for many years.
Norma Acree Sandoval can be contacted for information to get permission to visit this cemetery which is located on private property.
